Square — Data Deletion
Square users can delete their account and data at any time. You can do so in the following ways.
1. Delete in the app (account deletion)
- Open the Square app and sign in.
- Go to the Profile screen.
- Tap “Delete account” at the bottom of the screen.
- Confirm the notice and verify your identity by signing in with Google again. Your account and all related data are then deleted.
2. Request deletion without the app (email)
If you cannot use the app, email us the Google account (email address) you signed up with and we will process the deletion for you.
- Email: ldgu0919@gmail.com
- Suggested subject: “Square account deletion request”
- Body: the Google email address used to sign up
To verify your identity, we may confirm that the requesting email matches your sign-up account. After verification, deletion is completed within a few business days.
3. Data that is deleted
- Account information (Google sign-in identifier), nickname
- Contacts you entered (both public and private)
- Registered app information
- Rooms you created, participation/application records, attendance (app-launch verification) records
- Received notifications, whitelist/blacklist
- Sign-in account (authentication data)
This data is permanently deleted immediately and cannot be recovered. Where retention of certain items is required by law, those items are stored separately only for the required period and then destroyed.
4. Retention period
Upon account deletion or processing of a deletion request, related data is deleted without delay. We do not keep a separate retention period (except where legally required).
